- The first thing you need to do is open the direct messages you want to screenshot or screen record.
- Then, turn on Airplane Mode. Your phone can’t send any data to the Instagram server whenever it is in Airplane Mode.
- Once your phone is in Airplane Mode, use the phone’s button combination to screenshot the messages. You can also screen record it using a stock or third party screen recording app.
- After you’ve done that, go to your phone settings. Open your Instagram app setting and force close the app.
- At last turn off Airplane mode and open up Instagram again. You can continue using Instagram to do your usual activity.
This trick might or might not work. As you can see, Instagram keeps improving features and security with every update. So if the method above doesn’t work anymore then here are some other tricks you can try.
Turn off Your Internet Connection
This method similarly works like airplane mode. You have to go to the disappearing photo then turn off your internet connection. Now take a screenshot or record it as you like. Once you capture the photo go to your phone settings then select the App option. Then go to App Management and search for Instagram and force close the app.
Take A Photo From Another Device
The simple thing you can do is by taking a photo from another device. It’s not difficult, just open your camera and take a photo of a disappearing photo in a direct message.
This one is an easy trick in the book and you can try this without any concern. You might compromise on the quality but it works for you.

Does Instagram Notify Live Screenshots?
